Karl-Gisbert Denis

Karl-Gisbert Denis serves as Treasurer of the Board of Directors for Malden Rising Leaders Inc. (MRL). In his role, Karl manages the financials and ensures the efficient stewardship of resources. Karl’s goal is to support MRL’s continuous growth and its corresponding capacity to respond to the needs of Malden’s youth.

 

Karl currently serves as a fund accountant at State Street Bank Corporation in Boston, Massachusetts. At State Street, Karl administers mutual fund accounts for all of State Street clients and specializes in Corporate Actions accounting.

 

Karl was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti and immigrated to Malden, Massachusetts in 1998. He then graduated from Malden High School in 2011. During his time at Malden High School, Karl was the President of the Malden High School Concert Band and was the Captain of the Malden High Swim team. As Captain of the swim team, Karl started a swim clinic volunteer program which focused on teaching underserved and underrepresented kids how to swim. Karl also represented Malden High as an accomplished AP Scholar in the Massachusetts Math and Science Initiative Commercial sponsored by Exxon Mobile. After graduating Karl volunteered as a Musical Tech in the Malden High School Marching band. In this role, Karl guided and taught students their field show.

 

Karl attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst and earned a degree in Mathematics with a concentration in Financial Mathematics. At Amherst, Karl founded and led the Actuary Club of UMass. He served as the President of the club as the organization established a professional network for aspiring Actuaries and a library of resources for studying the Actuarial exams.

 

Malden Rising Leaders Inc. (MRL) is a non-profit corporation founded in Malden, Massachusetts in 2017. MRL’s focus is youth leadership and development through scholarship support and mentoring. Its mission is to help the Malden’s young leaders to engage, organize and advance their community’s development, by advocating on behalf of families. MRL provides a yearly scholarship to Malden High School graduating seniors to further their studies in the field of education, entrepreneurship, nonprofit, and public service.
